SiteWorthTraffic has been around since 2013, and plenty of people still type a domain into it when they want a quick idea of what a website is worth. If you are looking for a SiteWorthTraffic alternative, usually it is for one reason: the numbers in its reports come from the Alexa era, and you want an estimate built on data that is still being updated. This page compares the two tools side by side, fairly, so you can decide which one fits what you are doing.
Disclosure: this comparison is published by Site Worth Checker, so we are not neutral. To keep it honest, everything we say about SiteWorthTraffic comes from its own public pages (homepage, FAQ and sample reports), which we checked on October 27, 2026. Both tools give automated estimates for research, not appraisals or sale prices.
The short version
- Both are free and neither needs an account for a standard check.
- SiteWorthTraffic shows a classic “traffic worth” report: daily, monthly and yearly visitors, pageviews and ad revenue, plus Alexa traffic-rank tables. The sample reports we opened (wikipedia.org, google.com, openai.com) were each marked “Report updated 4 years ago”.
- Site Worth Checker starts from the Tranco top-1M list (a copy we refresh every day), then adds live checks run when you look a site up: Google PageSpeed (Lighthouse) scores, domain registration data over RDAP, security headers, on-page SEO and detected technologies. The valuation formula is published step by step.
If you just want to try it, enter any domain in our site worth checker. The rest of this page explains the differences in more detail.

Why the data source matters
Most free website worth calculators work the same way underneath: estimate traffic, turn traffic into revenue, multiply revenue into a value. The first step decides nearly everything, and it is where the two tools differ most.
SiteWorthTraffic’s reports are built around Alexa. Every report has an “Alexa Traffic Rank” table (3 months, 1 month, 7 days, 1 day) and an “Alexa Pageviews” table. Amazon shut Alexa.com down on May 1, 2022, so no new Alexa data has existed since then. That explains the “updated 4 years ago” labels: the traffic side of those reports is a snapshot from before the shutdown. We cover the background in Alexa Rank Is Gone: How Website Worth Is Estimated in 2026.
Site Worth Checker uses Tranco, a research ranking that combines several popularity sources (including Chrome UX Report and Cloudflare Radar data) and averages them over 30 days, which makes it harder to game. We download the full list every day and turn the rank into estimated visits with a published curve. The rest of the formula (revenue per visit, multiples, domain and technical value) is explained step by step in how we estimate website worth.
Same site, two very different numbers
Here is what each tool showed for wikipedia.org on October 27, 2026:
- SiteWorthTraffic: about $196.8 million, roughly 28.9 million unique visitors a day, about $89,862 a day in ad revenue, Alexa rank 11, report “updated 4 years ago”.
- Site Worth Checker: about $1 billion, Tranco rank #36, roughly 199 million visits a month and about $564K a day in modelled revenue, checked the same day (see the wikipedia.org report).
Neither figure is “the” value of Wikipedia. It is a non-profit that does not sell ads, so any ad-revenue model describes potential, not reality. The useful lesson is that the inputs drive the output: different traffic sources, revenue-per-visit assumptions and multiples can put two tools several times apart. Before you trust any number, check what data it was built on and how old that data is.
When SiteWorthTraffic is still fine
To be fair, there are situations where SiteWorthTraffic does the job:
- Historical context. If you want to see how a site looked in the late Alexa years, its stored reports are effectively an archive of that time.
- Browsing popular sites by niche. Its “Top popular … websites” lists (finance, travel, SEO, recipes and many more) are a quick way to browse well-known sites in a category.
- A very light page. Its reports are simple tables that load quickly on slow connections.
- Hiding your report. It has a self-service page to remove (and later restore) a domain.
If you need current figures, though, especially for a newer site or one whose traffic has changed in the last few years, an estimate built on fresh data is more useful.
How to check a site on each tool
On SiteWorthTraffic
- Type the domain into the “Calculate website worth” box on the homepage.
- Read the worth figure and the daily, monthly and yearly estimates.
- Look at the “Report updated” line under the summary. If the report is years old, keep that in mind before using the numbers.
On Site Worth Checker
- Enter the domain (no https:// needed) on the homepage. Subdomains work too.
- Read the estimated worth, then scroll to the Worth Breakdown to see the rank, modelled visits, revenue per visit, multiple, and domain and technical value that produced it.
- Check the performance, SEO and security panels. A slow, insecure site is a red flag whatever its traffic.
- If you know the site’s real monthly profit, run it through the website value calculator as well. A profit multiple beats any traffic model when you have real numbers.
Where Site Worth Checker is weaker
Being an alternative does not make us better at everything. Here are our limits:
- Small sites get little traffic credit. Tranco covers the top one million domains. A site outside that list gets no traffic-based value, only domain and technical value, so small but profitable sites can come out low. For those, use the profit-based calculator.
- Heavier pages. Our reports carry more panels, so they are bigger to load than SiteWorthTraffic’s simple tables.
- Rate limits. Live checks call outside services, so each visitor can run up to 20 checks an hour.
- It is still a model. Revenue per visit and multiples are assumptions. They are published and applied the same way to every site, but they are not your real earnings.
Other sites like SiteWorthTraffic
If you are comparing several sites like SiteWorthTraffic, think about what you actually need. Domain-based checkers (like ours) are best when you only know the URL. Marketplace calculators from brokers such as Flippa or Empire Flippers ask for revenue and profit and are better if you are preparing a sale. SEO suites such as Semrush and Ahrefs give deeper traffic data but mostly sit behind paid plans. Our roundup of website appraisal tools covers more options.
SiteWorthTraffic alternative: FAQ
Is there a free alternative to SiteWorthTraffic?
Yes. Site Worth Checker is free with no login. It estimates website worth from a daily-refreshed Tranco rank plus live PageSpeed, RDAP domain, SEO and security checks, and shows a breakdown of how each estimate was calculated.
Is SiteWorthTraffic still accurate?
Its reports are built on Alexa traffic data, and Alexa shut down on May 1, 2022. The sample reports we checked on October 27, 2026 were marked as updated four years ago, so treat their traffic and revenue figures as historical snapshots rather than current estimates.
Why do SiteWorthTraffic and Site Worth Checker show different values for the same site?
They use different traffic sources (Alexa versus Tranco), different revenue-per-visit assumptions and different multiples. Changing any input changes the output, which is why automated estimates can differ several times over. Neither is a sale price.
Which tool should I use if I know my site's profit?
Use a profit-based method. Site Worth Checker's website value calculator applies a low and high multiple to your average monthly net profit, which reflects how buyers actually price sites better than any traffic model does.
