How many visitors does a website get? Unless you own the site, you can’t see its analytics, but you can estimate its traffic from public popularity data. This free website traffic estimator takes any domain, looks up its rank in the Tranco top-1M list and turns that rank into estimated daily, monthly and yearly visits, plus a rough pageview figure and a link to the full worth report.

Each lookup uses the same checker as our homepage. Domains we have checked recently return instantly; new ones can take up to a minute while the report is built. To keep the service free, each connection can run up to 20 checks per hour.

How the traffic estimate is calculated

The estimator works in three steps, and every number it shows is a model output rather than a measurement:

To give a sense of the curve’s scale, here are its outputs at a few ranks (illustrative, not measured traffic):

Tranco rankEst. monthly visits
#100about 79 million
#1,000about 10 million
#10,000about 1.26 million
#100,000about 158,000

Subdomains that Tranco doesn’t rank separately are estimated as a fixed share of their parent domain’s traffic. Domains outside the top million get no traffic estimate at all, rather than a made-up one.

How accurate are website traffic estimates?

Any outside-in traffic number is an estimate, and it helps to know where the errors come from:

Treat the result as an order of magnitude: useful for comparing sites and spotting which one is roughly ten times bigger, not for quoting a precise monthly figure.

Getting real traffic numbers

If it is your own site, skip the estimate. Google Search Console shows clicks and impressions from Google search, and your analytics platform shows sessions and pageviews across every channel. When buying a site, ask the seller for read access to both, and compare what they show with a public estimate like this one. A large, unexplained gap is a good reason to dig deeper.

What to do with a traffic estimate

Traffic matters most for what it can earn and what it adds to a site’s value:

Website traffic estimator FAQ

How can I estimate a website's traffic for free?

Enter the domain in the estimator above. It looks up the site's Tranco rank and converts it into estimated daily, monthly and yearly visits with the same rank-to-traffic curve our website worth checker uses. It is free and needs no login.

How accurate is this website traffic estimator?

It gives an order-of-magnitude estimate, not a measurement. The underlying rank blends browser, DNS and backlink data, so infrastructure domains, app-heavy platforms and sites deep in the top million can be over- or under-estimated. Use your own analytics whenever you have them.

Why does a domain show no traffic estimate?

If a domain is not in the Tranco top 1 million, we don't publish a traffic figure for it rather than guess. Subdomains that are not ranked separately are estimated as a share of their parent domain.

How are pageviews estimated?

Pageviews are estimated visits multiplied by 2.5, an illustrative assumption about pages viewed per visit. Real pages-per-visit figures vary a lot between news sites, stores, tools and blogs.

Is there a limit on how many sites I can check?

Yes. To keep the service free and fast, each connection can run up to 20 checks per hour. Recently checked domains return instantly from cache.
