“My site gets 10,000 visitors a month — what is it worth?” is one of the most common questions we see. The honest answer is that traffic sets the ceiling, but profit sets the price. Below we show both sides: how our free website worth checker turns traffic into a number, with real reports from our database, and how buyers on marketplaces actually price sites.
How much is a website worth per visitor?
There is no fixed price per visitor. A visitor is only worth what the site earns from them, and that swings with niche, country mix, ad setup and whether the site sells anything. Marketplaces don’t price traffic at all — they price the last 12 months of net profit. Flippa’s help center suggests starting at 2–2.5× annual net profit as a benchmark, and Empire Flippers now quotes all of its listings as a multiple of annual profit.
So the useful formula is a chain, not a single rate:
Monthly visitors × revenue per visitor × 12 = annual revenue → minus costs = annual profit → × multiple = website worth.
When a free tool can’t see your books, it has to guess the middle of that chain. That’s what our model does, and we publish the assumptions so you can swap in your own numbers.
What does “website worth by traffic” mean?
| Term | What it means | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly visitors | People (or sessions) reaching the site in a month | Your analytics; public tools estimate it from rank data |
| Revenue per visit | Average revenue each visit produces (ads, affiliate, sales) | Your revenue ÷ your visits; our model uses a category baseline |
| Annual profit | Trailing 12-month revenue minus running costs | Your P&L — the number buyers actually pay for |
| Multiple | How many years of profit (or revenue) a buyer pays | Marketplace and broker sale data |
| Traffic value | The part of a site’s worth explained by its traffic alone | Our model: modelled annual revenue × multiple |
How does Site Worth Checker turn traffic into a value?
Our methodology in short:
- Traffic: we read the domain’s position in the public Tranco top-sites list and convert that rank into estimated monthly visits.
- Revenue per visit: a $0.03 baseline, adjusted by category — lower for news and government sites, higher for stores — and by an authority multiplier based on the site’s link profile.
- Multiple: modelled annual revenue × 3.5 for most sites, 4× above about 1 million visits a month and 5× above about 10 million.
- Domain and site value: we add a separate value for the domain name, age, technical health and content, so a site with little traffic still gets a floor.
Want to see the traffic piece on its own? The website traffic value page explains it, and the website traffic estimator shows the visit estimate for any domain.
What are real sites worth at 20k, 70k, 340k and 1M+ visitors?
These are live reports from Site Worth Checker, checked on November 3, 2026. All traffic and revenue figures are our model’s estimates from public data, not the owners’ real numbers.
| Site | Tranco rank | Est. monthly visits | Revenue / visit used | Est. daily revenue | Multiple | Traffic value | Total estimate |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| gluu.org | #974,784 | 20.4K | $0.03 | $18 | 3.5× | $22,456 | $63,000 |
| worthofweb.com | #605,979 | 31.2K | $0.038 | $38 | 3.5× | $47,978 | $63,000 |
| dailyblogtips.com | #241,216 | 71.6K | $0.038 | $104 | 3.5× | $132,471 | $150,000 |
| keycloak.org | #42,840 | 339K | $0.038 | $669 | 3.5× | $854,489 | $870,000 |
| kinja.com | #31,855 | 443K | $0.03 | $731 | 3.5× | $934,320 | $1,000,000 |
| bloglovin.com | #12,446 | 1M | $0.036 | $2.4K | 4× | $3,475,533 | $3,500,000 |
| mashable.com | #2,116 | 5.1M | $0.024 | $9.3K | 4× | $13,610,729 | $13,600,000 |
Three things stand out:
- Small sites are mostly domain value. For gluu.org, traffic explains about $22K of a $63K estimate; the rest is the domain, its age and technical signals.
- Same traffic, different value. worthofweb.com and gluu.org land on the same total, but for different reasons — one has more traffic, the other a larger domain/site component.
- Category matters at scale. mashable.com is modelled as news at $0.024 a visit, so 5.1M visits are worth less per visit than a general site would be.
How much is a website with 10k visitors worth?
Usually less than people hope, for two reasons.
Public data barely sees it. In our model, a rank near the bottom of the Tranco top million (gluu.org, #974,784) works out to roughly 20,000 visits a month. A site with 10,000 monthly visitors is normally below that line, so any public checker — ours included — sees almost no traffic and values the domain and site quality instead. Your own analytics are the only reliable source at this size.
Premium ad networks have minimums. Raptive’s eligibility page starts at 25,000 pageviews a month, with at least half the traffic from the US, UK, Canada, New Zealand or Australia. Mediavine’s entry program, Journey, needs over 1,000 sessions, while Mediavine Official needs $5,000+ in annual ad revenue. Which network a site qualifies for changes its revenue per visit, and therefore its worth.
Do the math with your own numbers. If 10,000 monthly visitors earn you, say, $150 a month after costs (a hypothetical figure — use yours), that is $1,800 of annual profit. At Flippa’s 2–2.5× starting benchmark that suggests roughly $3,600–$4,500. Plug your real profit into the website value calculator to see a low/mid/high range.
Why is traffic alone a misleading way to value a website?
| Factor | Pushes value up | Pushes value down |
|---|---|---|
| Business model | SaaS, marketplaces, content with diverse income | Service businesses, single-product stores |
| Traffic source | Brand, direct, email, many keywords | One algorithm, a few keywords, paid traffic |
| Audience location | High-paying ad markets | Low-RPM regions only |
| Trend | Stable or growing 12-month profit | Recent drops, spikes you can’t repeat |
| Owner time | Runs with a few hours a week | Depends on the owner’s skills or contacts |
Buyer data backs this up. In Flippa’s 2025 marketplace recap, average profit multiples ranged from 1.2× for service businesses to 2.7× for SaaS, with content sites at 2.6×. Two sites with identical traffic but different models can sell for very different prices.
How do I estimate my own website’s worth from traffic?
- Run your domain on the Site Worth Checker homepage to see the public view: rank, modelled traffic, traffic value and domain value.
- Replace the model’s guesses with your real 12-month visits and revenue. Revenue ÷ visits = your actual revenue per visit.
- Subtract hosting, content, tools and paid help to get annual profit.
- Apply a multiple that matches your model and size (see our website valuation guide for methods and multiples).
- Sanity-check with the how much is my website worth guide before quoting a price.

How much is a website with 10,000 visitors a month worth?
It depends on profit, not visits. Work out the annual profit those visitors produce and apply a multiple; Flippa suggests starting around 2–2.5× annual net profit. Public tools see little of a site this small, so use your own analytics.
How much is 1 million monthly visitors worth?
In our database, bloglovin.com (about 1M modelled monthly visits) is estimated at $3.5M, using $0.036 revenue per visit and a 4× multiple. A real sale price would depend on the site’s actual profit.
What is a good revenue per visitor?
There is no universal figure. It varies by niche, audience country and monetization. Our model starts at $0.03 per visit and adjusts by category, for example $0.024 for news and up to $0.05 for stores.
Why does my site show little traffic value?
If your domain is outside the Tranco top million, public data can’t estimate meaningful traffic, so most of the estimate comes from domain and site quality. Your real analytics and profit give a better answer.
